Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You have Barrett’s esophagus with a certain measured size (extent) on endoscopy reports
  • You’re in one of these situations: new work-up for low-grade/high-grade dysplasia or early-stage low-risk cancer, or routine surveillance for known Barrett’s without dysplasia in the past 18 months
  • You can read, understand, and sign consent forms and follow the study’s follow-up plans
  • At the time of the planned sampling, there should be no visible suspicious spots on the esophagus (unless from prior treatment)
  • You should not have had certain prior treatments or issues, like esophageal ablation, certain types of cancer-risk findings after resection, or esophageal varices
