Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older when you sign consent
  • You are planning a lower-back (thoracic/lumbar/lumbosacral) fusion using an implant spacer/cage for common degenerative conditions
  • Your surgeon plans to use one of the specific NuVasive interbody implants listed in the study
  • You will get bone grafting the study allows (for example, your own bone, donor bone, or specific NuVasive putty)
  • No active infection, no known metal/material allergy, and you must be medically cleared for surgery
  • You must not smoke in the 6 weeks before surgery and must avoid certain other study treatments (like bone growth stimulators)
