This trial tests whether eplerenone can slow the progression of blood vessel (vasculature) problems in people who have had a kidney transplant. You may be eligible if you are older, stable on your transplant medicines, and have higher peripheral artery blood pressure readings.

Who can take part

  • Age 50 or older
  • Kidney transplant at least 1 year before starting the study
  • Currently taking cyclosporine
  • Your health and non–blood-pressure medicines have been stable for the last 3 months (and no rejection episode in the last 3 months)
  • Your kidney function test (eGFR using CKD-EPI) is at least 30
  • Your peripheral artery pressure (PAS) is 110 mmHg or higher
