Noninvasive brain and nerve stimulation with walking therapy

This study tests whether a noninvasive electrical stimulation applied to the outside of the body, paired with physical therapy, can improve movement and walking for people with neurologic conditions. You may be asked to complete regular therapy sessions and simple movement tasks while the team measures your progress.

Who can take part

  • You have a neurologic condition (a problem affecting the brain, nerves, or spinal cord).
  • You can walk about 20 yards (roughly 60 feet), with or without a walking aid.
  • Your health is stable enough to take part, and you can follow 2–3 step instructions for simple movement tasks.
  • You can attend up to 5 study sessions per week for as long as 11 months.
  • You can read and speak English, and you have someone who can support you during sessions.
  • You are willing to volunteer for the study.
