Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older and able to sign consent and follow study steps
  • Have had a single stroke at least 6 months ago
  • Have hemiplegia (one-sided weakness) from that stroke
  • Be able to walk only with continuous or intermittent help from one person for balance/coordination
  • Not be doing regular physical therapy right now, and have a doctor’s approval
  • Not have certain conditions that affect nerves, spasticity severity, safety, or ability to use the legs
