Who can take part
- You have a plasma cell cancer that doctors say needs treatment (multiple myeloma or a related condition like plasmacytoma).
- Depending on the study group: you may need to have had at least 2 prior treatments, or be in the first-treatment group for the trial.
- Your kidney, liver, and blood counts must meet minimum levels (kidney function, neutrophils, platelets, bilirubin, AST/ALT).
- Your heart and lung function must be strong enough for transplant (including heart pumping ability and breathing test results).
- You must be able to carry out daily activities fairly well (ECOG 0–2, with one exception for pain from the myeloma).
- You must not be pregnant, and you and/or your partner must use reliable birth control during the study (and for a period after).
