Who can take part

  • You have confirmed non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by biopsy or fluid sample review.
  • Your care team says you should not have radiation at the same time as chemotherapy, or you’re not going to have surgery instead.
  • Your cancer is stage IIB or III, and your radiation plan is meant to cure the cancer (about 60 Gy).
  • You are an adult (18+) and likely to live more than 6 months.
  • Your breathing and lung function tests are strong enough (FEV1 and DLCO/TLCO each at least 35% predicted), and you can do daily activities reasonably well (Karnofsky 70+).
  • You can sign consent and follow study rules, including pregnancy prevention during treatment and for 4 months after for women and 6 months after for men.
