This study looks at people after a recent, serious injury—especially a new spinal cord injury—to see how research and clinical knowledge can be improved. Depending on your group (spinal cord injury, other trauma, or healthy), you may be invited to participate if you meet age and injury timing needs.

Who can take part

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be in one of these groups: new spinal cord injury, new non-spinal traumatic injury, or generally healthy with no recent traumatic injury
  • If you are not in the spinal cord injury group: you must not have ever had a spinal cord injury
  • If you are not in the spinal cord injury group: you must not have had other brain or nervous system injuries (like stroke, traumatic brain injury, or seizures)
  • You must not be pregnant
