Who can take part

  • You (or your legal representative) must sign an informed consent form
  • You must have a spinal cord injury (not just other nerve or movement problems) and be in the AIS A–D range
  • If your injury is in the neck (cervical C4–C7), your ulnar nerves must be working normally on both sides
  • If your injury is in the chest (thoracic T4–T12), your tibial and peroneal nerves must be working normally on both sides
  • You must not be pregnant or breast feeding
  • You cannot have major untreated heart/lung disease, major depression/psychosis, or current fever of unknown cause
