Who can take part

  • Be between 35 and 65 years old
  • Have a dentist diagnosis of periodontal (gum) disease
  • Have more than 16 functional (usable) teeth
  • Have not had any gum/periodontal treatment in the past 3 months
  • Have no other specific conditions that could affect gum disease treatment (such as pregnancy, certain bleeding/clotting problems, drug-related gum overgrowth, or certain mental health conditions)
  • Not be a person who has a disability that would prevent participation
