Who can take part
- You’re 18 or older and newly diagnosed with visible kidney/ureter urothelial cancer on CT or MRI
- Your tests (urine cell test and/or bladder urine test and/or biopsy) suggest high-grade urothelial cell cancer
- The cancer has not spread to distant organs (no metastatic disease) and visible lymph nodes are not present
- You can safely undergo kidney/ureter surgery (radical nephroureterectomy or ureterectomy) and you can also take cisplatin-based chemotherapy
- Your overall condition is good (ECOG 0–1), and blood and kidney/liver tests meet required minimums
- You cannot have certain cisplatin-limiting problems, recent other cancers/systemic chemotherapy, or other study medicines
