Study blood and brain markers in moderate to severe depression

This study looks at changes in depression “markers” to understand what treatments help and why. You’ll have non-invasive brain stimulation and scans before and after treatment, over about 8 weeks.

Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 70 years old
  • Have major depressive disorder right now, with moderate to severe symptoms (MADRS score over 19)
  • Have tried 1 to 4 antidepressant medicines in this current episode without enough improvement
  • If you take psychiatric (mental health) medicines, keep the same doses and plan during the scan period
  • Be willing and able to get non-invasive brain stimulation, attend visits for about 8 weeks, and give informed consent
