This trial tests how well an EyeCTester smartphone app can measure vision blind spots and distorted vision compared with standard eye tests. If you qualify, you’ll do short near-vision and “Amsler grid” style tasks in the clinic to help confirm the app is accurate.

Who can take part
- Be age 18+ (or 22+ for the “Group 7” part of the study).
- Have had a standard eye nerve/vision test (ICNVT) within the last 6 months.
- In the study eye, have at least one specific blind-spot area (scotoma/field-cut) or distortion/doubling area (metamorphopsia/doubling) with clear boundaries.
- Be able to do both near Amsler-grid tasks—paper and smartphone—and score at least 80% after brief in-clinic training.
- Have near vision clarity no worse than 20/80 at 16 inches and be able to look directly at a small 2.5 mm target.
- No dilated pupils on the day of testing, and your eye condition should be stable (not changing) and not painful.
