Who can take part

  • You are pregnant and will give birth in Manitoba
  • You are from Indigenous heritage (for example Cree, Oji-Cree, Métis, or Anishinaabe)
  • You (and the baby) will be living in Manitoba
  • Your pregnancy can involve type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, or no diabetes
  • The mother/father and child must be biological family members (not adopted or unrelated)
  • You or the child should not have type 1 diabetes
