Brain scan study to learn who responds to spinal cord stimulation

Who can take part

  • Be 21 years or older when you sign consent
  • Your pain doctor has recommended you try a spinal cord stimulation (SCS) trial for chronic low back pain
  • Your low back pain has lasted at least 12 weeks despite other treatments
  • You must agree to sign the study consent form approved by an ethics board (IRB)
  • You cannot be currently abusing alcohol or illegal drugs
  • You must be able to safely have MRI brain/body scans (no MRI-safe restrictions from implants)
