Laser treatment then focused radiation for new brain gliomas

Who can take part

  • You are an adult (18 or older) with imaging that suggests a primary high-grade brain glioma
  • You have a brain MRI with contrast showing a tumor area within the last 60 days, and neurosurgery says you could receive LITT based on that MRI
  • A recent medical check-up and neurological exam must be done within 30 days before starting
  • Your overall function must be at least moderate (Karnofsky score 50% or higher) within 30 days
  • You must be able to have an MRI scan (no MRI limits like certain implanted devices or severe claustrophobia)
  • If pregnancy is possible, you must agree to effective birth control during treatment and for 6 months after, and women of child-bearing potential need a negative pregnancy test within 28 days
