Who can take part
- Be between 6 and 18 years old (including both ages).
- Have kidney function in a certain range (not too good, not close to dialysis yet).
- Have phosphate levels at or below 5.9 mg/dL, and iron stores that are not too high (ferritin under 500 and TSAT under 50%).
- Not currently taking phosphate binders, and not allergic to ingredients in the study medicine or placebo.
- Be able to swallow tablets, and able to eat at least two meals per day.
- Have a stable treatment plan for any growth hormone, calcitriol, vitamin D, iron, or ESAs for at least 2 weeks before screening.
