Botox-like injection study for arm spasticity after stroke

Who can take part

  • Be 18–70 years old (for dose escalation, 18–65) when you sign consent
  • Have spastic weakness on one side of your body after stroke or traumatic brain injury, at least 6 months ago
  • Not have received botulinum toxin injections (BoNT) recently (or never had them), with the last injection at least 4 months before baseline
  • Have specific stiffness measurements in the target arm/muscles (MAS score at least 2 and angle of spasticity at least 5°)
  • No fixed joint contractures (for example, wrist/elbow/finger can’t fully extend in a set way)
  • Keep therapies steady (physiotherapy/occupational therapy/splints/related meds like benzodiazepines or muscle relaxants) starting 30 days before baseline through Month 3, and as directed after
  • Use reliable birth control rules if pregnancy is possible, and agree to follow them for the whole study
