Testing a lung protein in COPD sputum samples

Who can take part

  • You’re 40 or older
  • If you’re in the COPD group: you currently smoke or used to, with a history of more than 10 pack-years
  • You have breathing test results showing COPD (post-bronchodilator FEV1/FVC under 70%) and FEV1 at least 30% of what’s expected
  • You’ve had a CT scan where a lung imaging specialist confirmed emphysema
  • You can do breathing tests (spirometry) and provide sputum for the study
