Who can take part

  • You have intermediate- or high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma diagnosed within the last 5 years
  • Your tests fit at least one risk pattern: high marrow plasma cells, an abnormal light-chain ratio, or a higher monoclonal protein level
  • Your blood counts and organs are strong enough: low infection risk (ANC), enough hemoglobin, and enough platelets
  • Your kidney and liver tests are within limits, and your heart pumping strength (ejection fraction) is at least 40%
  • You are well enough to travel for visits: performance status 0 to 2
  • If you could become pregnant, you must meet strict pregnancy testing and contraception rules
