Who can take part
- Be age 55 or older.
- Have advanced macular degeneration with specific changes in the center (fovea involvement), confirmed by eye scans/tests.
- Have cataracts.
- Your current vision must be limited but not too good or too poor (between about 20/80 and 20/800 in both eyes).
- You must be able to take a pre-surgery eye test using an external telescope simulator and improve by at least five letters in the planned surgery eye.
- Be willing to do required training after surgery and understand enough language to follow instructions.
