This study follows adults with hearing instability to better understand what causes it, measure it in new ways, and look for potential treatment targets. If you qualify, you may get hearing and balance-related testing (including scans) over a period of time.

Who can take part
- Be 18–80 years old and be willing to attend all study visits for the whole study period
- Sign a consent form and follow study instructions
- Have hearing instability: documented hearing changes on hearing tests (either a meaningful shift over repeat tests or a sudden drop) and sensorineural hearing loss
- For at least one ear, you must not have large “conductive” hearing issues (no big air–bone gap over 10 dB from 500–4000 Hz)
- If you can become pregnant, have a negative pregnancy test at the start of the study
