Who can take part
- You have myasthenia gravis symptoms that come and go, with weakness that gets worse with use
- Blood tests show AChR or MuSK antibodies, or (if negative) a nerve test called low-frequency repetitive nerve stimulation is positive
- You are currently in a crisis (rapid, life-threatening worsening) and need a breathing machine or noninvasive breathing support
- Or you may be in an “impending crisis,” meaning your doctors think breathing could fail within days to weeks (often with low oxygen or high carbon dioxide)
- Your nerve test results must not look like a different disorder (Lambert-Eaton) or certain inherited forms of myasthenia
- If you had a planned surgery recently, you may still qualify only if breathing support was used as part of routine postoperative care
