- You’re an adult age 18–80, in the surgical ICU
- You have a suspected or confirmed serious infection and are on antibiotics
- Your blood pressure is very low despite treatment, and you need medicines (vasopressors) to keep it up
- You must still meet these blood-pressure and treatment needs right before the procedure
- You can safely travel for the procedure window (not too unstable or changing medicines too often)
- You do not have major exclusions like open abdomen, certain clotting problems, or a severe contrast allergy
