  • You are in the hospital with septic shock that started less than 48 hours ago
  • You have a suspected or confirmed infection and need medicine to keep your blood pressure up
  • You have high lactic acid levels in your blood despite receiving fluids
  • You or your family member have been told about the study and you agree to take part
