- You are age 60 to 85.
- Your shoulder condition matches rotator cuff arthropathy with Hamada grade 3, 4, or 5.
- You are considered eligible for RSA (a specific type of shoulder implant).
- You have not had a fracture of the upper arm bone near the shoulder or the shoulder socket bone.
- You do not plan other arm/shoulder surgery within the next 6 months.
- You do not have certain illnesses that affect the shoulder or limit communication (like rheumatoid arthritis from a non–primary shoulder condition, major nerve diseases, or language/mental ability issues).
