tDCS training to reduce cannabis use in people with schizophrenia

Who can take part

  • You have a diagnosis of schizophrenia (DSM-5) and your usual psychiatric medications have stayed the same for at least 4 weeks.
  • You have moderate-to-severe cannabis use disorder and you used cannabis in the past 7 days.
  • You feel motivated to cut down or stop cannabis.
  • You do not have another substance use disorder besides nicotine (for example, no alcohol or other drugs use disorder).
  • You do not have another active major mental health condition besides schizophrenia (except certain personality disorders).
  • You can safely do tDCS and MRI—no implanted devices in the head, no uncontrolled seizure disorder, and no serious brain pressure problems; also you are not pregnant and you can use contraception if applicable.
