Study tests heart muscle function during open-heart surgery

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 to 85 and having planned open-heart surgery
  • You (or your legal representative) can complete and understand the study consent process
  • You must have enough heart tissue for analysis (from surgery) to be used
  • You do not lack mental capacity to consent
  • You do not have an active blood-borne infection like HIV
  • You do not have a recent positive COVID-19 test within the last 10 days
