Who can take part
- You (or your child) must have a specific diagnosis, such as X-linked CALD, MLD, ALD variants, or a related genetic “PRE-” stage
- Age must match one of the study groups: about 15 months to 18 years, or 18 to 60 years
- For “presymptomatic” groups, you carry the matching gene change but may not yet have symptoms
- You must be able to provide blood samples (and have blood counts acceptable to the study doctor)
- You must not be in another treatment-focused clinical trial
