Who can take part
- Be older than 18 years
- Have a diagnosis of thyroid cancer that is either DTC (including Hürthle cell cancer) or MTC
- For DTC: have thyroid cancer that has spread and does not take up radioactive iodine (RAI-non-avid), or has progressed despite radioactive iodine
- For MTC: have advanced or metastatic MTC, or suspected advanced/metastatic MTC with calcitonin level above 500
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have no serious health problems that would limit the scan (for example, severe kidney failure) and be able to consent
