Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older and able to sign consent
  • You have rectal cancer confirmed by pathology after prior chemoradiation or radiation
  • Your cancer is expected to be treated with TME surgery after this study
  • There must be at least 6 weeks between your last radiation/chemoradiation and your surgery
  • You did not receive brachytherapy (radiation given directly in/near the tumor) as part of your earlier treatment
