Who can take part

  • You have ongoing nerve-type pain after a traumatic brachial plexus injury (from an accident/trauma)
  • Your pain score suggests nerve pain (DN4 score above 4 out of 10)
  • Your scan shows a nerve root avulsion on CT myelogram (a specific kind of nerve injury)
  • You are planned to have brachial plexus exploration and reconstruction surgery at Mayo Clinic
  • You are age 18 or older
  • You do not have medical or mental health reasons you cannot take ketamine (for example, severe liver disease, serious heart disease risk, or poorly controlled schizophrenia)
