Who can take part

  • You’re 18 years or older
  • You have syphilis that is primary, secondary, or early latent
  • Your RPR blood test was at least 1:8 within 3 weeks before joining
  • If you have HIV, your infection must be well controlled (low viral load or adequate CD4 count) and you must be on HIV treatment
  • You can give informed consent and you’re able to attend follow-up visits
  • You are not pregnant (and must test negative if pregnancy is possible)
