Endovascular treatment for blocked aorta and iliac arteries

This trial studies how well a minimally invasive (endovascular) procedure works over the long term for people with significant blockage in the lower aorta and iliac arteries. You may be considered if you need treatment for narrowing, re-narrowing, or a blockage of these arteries, and you can safely take the study medications and return for follow-ups.

Who can take part

  • You have leg/artery disease rated as Rutherford 3 to 6
  • The blockage is in the lower (infrarenal) abdominal aorta and/or common or external iliac artery
  • There is at least 50% narrowing, repeat narrowing, full blockage, or clot/thrombosis in the target artery (based on prior imaging or prior procedures)
  • You can and agree to return for follow-up visits at the required times and sign consent
  • You can safely take blood-thinning medicines like antiplatelet drugs and anticoagulants (or have no allergy/contraindication)
  • You have not had a heart attack or stroke in the last 3 months, and you do not have pregnancy/breastfeeding
