This study tests whether a spinal cord stimulator (a device that sends mild electrical pulses to the spine) can help improve bladder, bowel, and other automatic body functions during inpatient rehab after a recent spinal cord injury. It's for people who have a non-worsening injury at or above the T6 level and are within 4 months of their injury.

Who can take part

  • You are between 21 and 65 years old.
  • Your spinal cord injury is at or above the T6 level and is not getting worse over time.
  • You are currently in inpatient rehabilitation or have been discharged within the past 4 months since your injury.
  • You are able to attend all study visits and follow instructions in English.
  • You do not have other serious health problems like stroke, multiple sclerosis, or an untreated infection.
