Electrical nerve stimulation for long-lasting concussion symptoms

This study tests whether a device that delivers gentle electrical signals to nerves through the skin can help children and teens with concussion symptoms that have lasted at least 3 months. You may be asked to attend clinic visits for the nerve stimulation setup if you meet the safety and scheduling requirements.

Who can take part

  • A doctor has diagnosed you with post-concussion syndrome (ongoing symptoms after a concussion).
  • Your concussion symptoms have lasted at least 3 months, and there is no other clear cause.
  • You can speak English or Spanish (and your family can participate in those languages).
  • Your age is 11–18 and you were seen at the CHOC Neurology clinic after COVID-19 symptoms lasting more than 3 months.
  • You can attend Friday clinic appointments for the nerve stimulation placement.
