Who can take part

  • You are age 60 or older and have myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)
  • Your overall ability to function is good (ECOG score less than 1)
  • Your heart, liver, and kidneys are working well enough for treatment
  • Your bilirubin level is at or below 35 umol/L, and your creatinine is at or below 150 umol/L
  • You cannot or do not want a stem cell transplant for this condition
  • You are able and willing to sign informed consent
