Who can take part
- You have one of these diagnoses: higher-risk MDS, CMML (10–29% marrow blasts), or low-blast AML (20–30% marrow blasts)
- Your MDS risk category must be intermediate to very high by IPSS-R (score above 3)
- You have not had treatment with “hypomethylating agents” before (the type like azacitidine or similar medicines)
- You can have azacitidine now and you are not planning azacitidine after a stem cell transplant
- You are not able to get an allogeneic (donor) stem cell transplant, or your care team says you are not eligible
- You can follow the study rules, including stopping vitamin C supplements at least 3 days (preferably longer) before starting and baseline tests
