Who can take part

  • You have epilepsy or a brain tumor and you are having surgery at UCSF with electrode placement
  • Your electrodes must be placed in at least two different brain target areas (regions of interest)
  • You agree to participate and can follow the study tasks during the procedure
  • You must be able to understand and give informed consent (or have consent you can provide appropriately)
  • Your surgeon should not find major brain lesions that would interfere with the study
  • You should have thinking/memory abilities sufficient to do the study tasks reliably
