Who can take part

  • You had a half-matched stem cell transplant (haploidentical donor) after a reduced-intensity regimen (RIC) for a blood cancer.
  • You and your donor gave written consent to join the study.
  • You are not currently taking prednisone (or a similar steroid).
  • You are not taking mycophenolate mofetil, and you’re not on cyclosporine or tacrolimus at therapeutic blood levels.
  • You do not have significant “graft-versus-host disease” (GvHD): no acute GvHD grade 2 or higher, and no chronic moderate-to-severe GvHD.
  • Your disease is not progressing, and you have not already had a second transplant.
  • You are not pregnant or nursing, and you can use effective birth control during the study.
  • You can follow the study plan and understand instructions (language/mental health/dementia can affect this).
