Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old and have AML or MDS (not APL).
  • You do not have a fully matched (HLA-matched) donor, but you do have a half-matched (haploidentical) relative who can donate.
  • Your transplant team believes your organs are strong enough and there are no major reasons you cannot have a half-matched transplant.
  • A blood test must not show very strong donor-specific anti-HLA antibodies (strong immune antibodies against the donor).
  • You are not pregnant, and you would not need extra immune-suppressing medicines beyond standard GvHD prevention.
  • Your donor is over 18, not pregnant, and can safely donate through an apheresis process.
