App-based home rehab after shoulder arthroscopy

This study tests whether using a communication app to help you do home rehabilitation after arthroscopic shoulder surgery improves recovery and function. If you have a small to medium full-thickness rotator cuff tear (or certain subscapularis tears) and can commit to follow-up for two years, you may be eligible.

Who can take part
- You must have had arthroscopic (camera-assisted) surgery to repair a small-to-medium rotator cuff tear (<3 cm) or a specific subscapularis tear (Lafosse type II or III).
- Your tear must be “repairable” during surgery (not considered irreparable).
- You must not have had prior surgery on the same shoulder.
- You must be able and willing to consent to being assigned to a rehab plan and follow the study for 2 years.
- You must not have pre-surgery shoulder stiffness (very limited arm lift or much less external rotation than the other side).
- You must not have a history of certain body-wide autoimmune diseases or infection (septic arthritis) in the operated shoulder.
