Shoulder pacemaker for abnormal shoulder blade movement

This study looks at a special “pacemaker” device to help with scapular dyskinesis (abnormal movement of the shoulder blade) and posterior shoulder instability (the shoulder tending to slip backward). It may help people who have these movement and stability problems but not certain other shoulder conditions.

Who can take part

  • You have scapular dyskinesis, meaning your shoulder blade movement is abnormal
  • You have posterior shoulder instability, meaning your shoulder is unstable toward the back
  • You do not have a rotator cuff tear
  • You do not have shoulder arthritis
  • You do not have an implanted electrical or electronic device (like a pacemaker/defibrillator)
  • If you use wearable electrical medical devices (like glucose sensors or infusion pumps), they must be turned off or you may be excluded
