This study looks at how problems in the gut can lead to kidney stone risk, especially in people with inflammatory bowel disease or after certain weight-loss surgery. Your participation may help researchers understand the gut–kidney connection and identify why stones happen.

Who can take part
- Age 18 to 79 years (either sex and any race/ethnicity)
- You must be either: (1) have inflammatory bowel disease, or (2) have had gastric bypass more than 6 months ago, or (3) have had a kidney stone event or stone on imaging in the last 3 years
- If you join as a healthy control, you should have no chronic illnesses, no long-term medicines, and no history of bowel disease or kidney stones
- You must not be pregnant or nursing
- You must not have had antibiotics within the last 3 months
- Your kidney function must be reasonably normal (eGFR 60 or higher in the past year)
