Who can take part

  • You have a diagnosis of liver cirrhosis
  • Your liver disease is in an intermediate range (Child-Pugh score 5–8)
  • No recent bleeding from the stomach or bowels in the last 3 months
  • You do not have an active infection and you are not having confusion from liver disease (encephalopathy)
  • You do not have kidney failure needing dialysis or severe organ problems affecting the heart, lungs, or kidneys
