Who can take part

  • You’re 18 to 40 years old and had a knee ACL injury on one side (unilateral)
  • Your injury matches a sports-activity level score of 7 on the Tegner scale
  • Your blood vitamin D level was under 20 ng/mL before surgery, and stays under 20 ng/mL at 4 months after ACL reconstruction
  • At about 4 months after surgery, your thigh strength on the injured side is under 70% compared with the other leg
  • You’ve never had major problems or surgery in either knee before this ACL injury
  • You must be able to follow the rehab plan closely after surgery
