Who can take part

  • You’re 18 or older and able to give informed consent.
  • You received a liver transplant (liver or kidney-liver transplants and repeat transplants are allowed), and it’s been at least 3 months since surgery.
  • There is no current active rejection, and your liver blood tests are stable (or high because of fatty liver disease confirmed on biopsy).
  • You have type 2 diabetes or post-transplant diabetes, and your HbA1c is between 6.5% and 10.5%.
  • Your current diabetes medicines are limited to what the trial allows (metformin and/or an SGLT2 inhibitor are allowed if stable; insulin is allowed if it’s been stable for at least 90 days).
  • You do not have certain exclusions like recent heart attack/stroke, very low kidney function (eGFR under 30), recent investigational drugs, pancreas inflammation history, or certain thyroid cancer/MEN2 history.
