Who can take part

  • Have stage I–III breast cancer and be scheduled for chemotherapy before or after surgery (adjuvant or neoadjuvant)
  • Have not had any prior chemo, radiation, or other cancer treatment for early breast cancer (or any other cancer)
  • Be age 18 or older, and generally well enough to do daily activities (performance status 0–2)
  • Have blood counts and organ tests that are in acceptable ranges (kidney, liver, and bone marrow)
  • Be able to use effective birth control during the study, and not be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Not take certain medicines that strongly interact with the study drug (especially strong CYP2C8 inhibitors)
