Neurofeedback for food addiction in people with obesity

This trial tests whether brain-training feedback using near-infrared sensors (a painless light-based brain measure) can reduce food addiction behaviors in people with obesity. If you qualify for obesity surgery and have food addiction signs, you may be offered this therapy and monitored during the study.

Who can take part

  • You are eligible for obesity surgery: BMI 40+, or BMI 35+ with related health problems
  • You are right-handed
  • Your answers on the YFAS 2.0 questionnaire suggest food addiction
  • You have French social security coverage and can sign written consent
  • You can take part in an fNIRS brain test (the light sensors won’t be blocked by your scalp/head hair or fit)
