A new discharge plan for very premature babies with lung disease

Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia

Who can take part

  • Your baby was born before 32 weeks of pregnancy
  • Your baby has lung disease that needs breathing support for 28 days after birth (at least mild BPD)
  • Your baby is being discharged to their home (not to another facility)
  • Your baby may be on oxygen to go home (that can still qualify)
  • Your baby does not have a major other congenital condition (heart, genetic, or nerve system) that is thought to be a main cause of the breathing problems
